About the book:
The second part of the title of this informational text, Count to 10 in 10 Different Languages, is essentially the main idea of the book. The book takes us on a journey through different regions around the world and asks us to count 10 objects in the language provided for the region. By the end of the book, we have counted 10 objects on every page using a total of 10 different languages. Each page provides the numerical representation of numbers 1-10, the symbol for each number in the respective language, and the pronunciation for each symbol as well.  The book also includes a world map at the end that allows you to see where each language is spoken in the world. Additionally, each language has a number that is used to identify it on the map.

I like this book because it is not only informational and teaching the concept of counting and numbers 1-10 but it is also culturally diverse. The incorporation of 10 different languages being used to count to 10 is a creative and engaging way to introduce other languages to children at a young age. The text is short and simple on each page, putting emphasis mainly on the numbers and counting using each language. The illustrations are easy enough to follow along and can allow children to visualize the different objects they are counting. The great thing about this book is that adults can benefit from it as well. Just like children, the book can introduce us to new languages that can be useful when working in a classroom with ELL students or even world travel. The topic of counting is very relatable cross- cultural and presenting the topic in this way supports multiple learners. As a future teacher, this is definitely a book I would like to have in my classroom library and use as an important resource.
