ISBN: 9780618581252
About the book:
The pictures of this wordless picture book tells the story about a young boy who takes a trip to the museum with his class. As they begin to explore the museum, the boy manages to get lost from the group and go on his own adventure through the museum. As he searches for his class, he stumbles across different exhibits throughout the museum. He becomes part of the exhibits and has to try to figure out the way through the mazes. He successfully navigates his way through the mazes, receives a medal, and eventually ends up back with the rest of his classmates. Although it seems like his navigation through the maze is fictional, he leaves the museum at the end of the trip with the medal still around his neck.
Book Review:
I give this book a 3 out of a 5. The concept of mazes might be a little confusing for some young readers, but it can also encourage readers to become part of the story and try to find their ways through the maze. The illustrations are great in their demonstration of perspective. When the boy is looking down at the maze he is much larger than it but once he is inside the maze he is the same size as the objects.
I do not know this one, but I will have to check it out. It sounds really cool, and the illustrations definitely remind me of the little boy from The Red Book.
